The first time I read the Diary Of Anne Frank was a few years ago with my eighth grade language arts class. I was overwhelmed not only by the story, but with the impact it had on my students. The discussions and emotional response to the book were unforgettable. It is a powerful book and a book that everyone can make a connection to.

Although Anne's life was tragically cut short, she has lived on anyway in all of us who have read her diary. When I had first read her diary, the impact Anne's word had on me was perhaps greater than any words from my mother. She was basically a philospher all together herself! Her invisions of life are extremely deep and everytime I read them they make me feel "Gosh, I wish all people were like this." But that's what makes Anne special, and what makes her stand out from all the other victims of the Holocaust. More than anything I wish that Anne had lived through the war herself and could have lived to tell her story. I wish that I could have met and conversed with her, and discussed all of my teenage problems that no one really cares about. I am thirteen now, like Anne was then, and I connect with her more than I have with anyone.
Although she has perished from this world, in a sense, she's still alive, anyway.

I first read the Diary of Anne Frank in fourth grade... now I'm reading it again for class and I realized I hadn't truly understood the first time I read it. I felt so sad that she had to go into hiding and eventually die later, but she was like those dandelions, growing and flourishing everywhere, even in cracks in the concrete. Now when I'm sad or depressed, I think about Anne Frank and how she lived with courage and snap.
This website had lots of stuff I never saw before... Like those pictures of Anne and the place where she lived... it feels 'deep', looking at those photos and reading the diary, and thinking about the memories of a girl that once lived there.... Anne Frank has died, but her spirit will live on forever. -.-

Anne Frank's story is overwhelmingly touching. To just imagine what she would have gone through. I am 13 also, and her story just really makes me think of how people could be so cruel. Anne Frank, her story tells us the reality of those terrible things that the Nazis did.

I just began reading the Diary of Anne Frank and I have already been summoned into Anne's world. I am thirteen, the same age Anne was when she began her diary, and I can relate to how she feels at this age. Her powerful words have connected people all over the world, and her experiences inspire us all to keep faith. Being such a strong individual and a fighter, she is a great encouragement.

I just started reading the Diary of Anne Frank. She has such a warm spirit! I think she saved a lot of lives just being herself and encourging her family that there was still hope and no matter what happened you can still have a good attitude.

The world lost a priceless, precious jewel when Anne Franks life was cut short. She would have contributed so much if she had lived. Look at how much she already contributed with her writings and ideas! Could you IMAGINE how much more she would have given us had she lived? She is truly an inspiration and an unforgettable treasure. May her sweet, gentle soul rest in peace.

I read Anne's diary and loved it very much cause it gave me a mental image of what life back then was like. I'm also Jewish, and cried and cried because of how Anne had to consistently evade prosecution from the Green Police. I will remember this story forever, all through my life, and spread the existence of Anne Frank, who remains a star in my memory.

I first remember redaing the diary when I was in fifth grade. I had just picked it up to read for fun, not knowing what the book was really about. Little did I know that I was going to be transported into a world of hiding, fear, and a cruel bloody war. The story, well actually diary is so beautiful and sad. Anne depicts life in hiding so true to life. She is brutally honest about life in the annex, describingthe people and life. In our class in eighth grade we actually read the play version. I was Anne! I love the story, it is definitley a keeper on my bookshelf.
