I remember the first time I read her book and saw the movie. I felt as if I were there in that place with her. I felt her frustrations, hopes and fears. I will recommend her story to my grandchildren when they are old enough to read it. When I think of her now and see programs on PBS about the Jews I feel such a sadness. I hope nothing like this will ever happen again. Thank you for creating this web site.

I just read the book of Anne Frank and recently watched the movie. She has touched my heart so much and learned a great deal from her story. I have studied extensively about the war in school. We even had a man who was a prisoner come speak to us. I hope to one day see the actual place where she lived.

Me and my sister Kanesha&Deja Meadows we had watched the unfinished story and we almost cried and it was very touching and really showed the negative aspescts of the holocost and it's ashamed she had to die in a horrible place it also inspired us as well to treat everyone equal please write us back....

My mother gave me Anne's diary as a birthday gift when I became twelve. At first I couldn't grasp the contents of the book as real.It was a novel, but I started to ask questions and suddenly realized this was a true story.Anne became my friend.my hero, someone I would have liked to be friends with or better yet a sister.Through the years I have read the book again and again.I have also searched other books to learn more about my friend Annelise Marie. My heart feels an emptiness sometimes because I wonder if and only if she had lived... We would probably never have met,but I know the world would probably be a better place because of all the things she would have acomplished. Or maybe I am wrong and her legacy to the world has been acomplished.

prejudice extends from an absence of knowledge- intimate knowledge about the other...
my reading of Anne Frank's account about herself warmed my heart and allowed me to see her as i would see myself. It makes a great difference to the prejudices we have..

I read Anne Frank's diary when I was about 13 years old. It had a real impact on my love of history; I interviewed a survivor of Auschwitz during a high school history project and I majored in History in Undergrad with a focus on World War II. Another great book for those interested, is Viktor Frankl's book "Man's Search for Meaning."

Half the time Ican not read this story because it makes me cry. I get really sad. What Hitler did was just unacceptable. Sometimes I do like reading it. Every time I read it I learn more like I never even read it before. When I read it, it's like my first time. Ienjoy the books Iread about her, and I hope one day when you get a chance kids out there will be just as inspired as I was.

There are many aspects of the Web site that are deeply compelling. However, the combination of an English speaker and written English was upsetting to me and took away from what you have. In later sections, you compromise by showing the German (?) text with the English voice-over. This is better. I could not find any discussion of the translation process. It is important for people in the U.S.A. to appreciate differences.
