When I first saw the book, Anne Frank on my desk in class, I was very reluctant and I didn't want to read the book. In class, we started to read the book and it was then that I found the book very captivating and interesting. Sooner or later, I was looking forward to Language Arts class every day. The Diary of Anne Frank is a very touching and moving story that taught me so many things. I think that it is amazing how the Franks, Van Daans, and Dussel managed to stay so quiet and still for 2 years! We have also started to write in journals in Language Arts. Just like Anne.I think that keeping a journal is a good idea and it gives you a chance to express your thoughts and feelings without anyone judging you. I find Anne's story very inspiring and amazing. I hope that someday everyone in the world will have the same bravery and courage that Anne had. | Name: My Name is Roger...

The Diary of Anne Frank truly is an inspirational story that teaches many lessons. When I was reading this story (the play version) in my 8th grade language arts class, we acted out different parts. I myself got to act as Mr. Frank, the caring and considerate man of the house... or Annex. It taught me a lot like how you don't necessarily have to be out in the world to access it. You need something to hang on to. Honestly, there was some controversy over holding on to a religion rather than something more materialistic but the idea was the same. This touching story really shows us the struggles of many people in WWII first hand. Anne is definitely someone we can look up to and we can applaud her good heart and courage while going through these troubles. It showed me how fortunate I am that I do not have to go through what they did. Anne's wish is fulfilled as she wanted to live forever. She lives on in her writing. | Name: Krishna S.

When I read Anne Frank's diary, I found that through her, I had learned a lesson that not only applied to me, but to everyone around me. Anne Frank's diary taught that we don't really need all the stuff that we think we really "need", like a TV, or a smartphone. Anne Frank learned how to enjoy even the smallest bits of life, like the sun, or the sound of birds, a sound that I particularly have found quite annoying. Anne also learned (and taught) that you don't need to be somewhere to experience it: she learned that imagination is more powerful than anyone could have possibly imagined. Although it is a great tragedy that Anne was killed by the cruelest of humans, I still believe that Anne was still able to live however she wanted through her mind. After reading through this website, I feel inspired by her strength in such hardship during her time in hiding. | Name: Patrick

I think that Anne was a very sweet girl. I admire the way she viewed life and how she found something good inside everything. She did not think that people were truly evil.She even chose to believe that everyone was kind, even when the Germans held them bondage. Her diary has ultimately left an everlasting mark on the world, reminding people of the unavoidable possibility that evil is prone to spontaneously ignite at any given time, but no matter what, love will never burn out. | Name: Patrick

After I read Anne's story, I realized how fortunate I am today, not living in the horrors of what she had to face when she was sent to the concentration camps. She held on to her optimism and refused to give in to the Nazi's plot to try to turn them into wild animals that get rid of all their dignity. She believed that one day, everything would be okay. I respect her for this and hope she will be remembered forever. I know I would never have the confidence and courage she had if I was placed in a situation like hers. Her courage never diminished even when it was evident that all hope was lost. She lived in such a harsh environment, but never gave in. What the Nazi's did was cruel on another level, but Anne still believed that everyone was good. This amazed me and I was really inspired by her words. I truly wish I could be as strong and kind as someone like Anne Frank. | Name: Dara

I have just read The Diary of Anne Frank for my 8th grade language class. After reading her diary, I hope that someday I will be as strong and brave as she is. As another teenage girl, I can't imagine hiding for over 2 years in the same room. I think I would go absolutely insane. I read this book for the first time and I really enjoyed it. When I first had to read it, I was very reluctant. After I finshed reading the book I understood how bad the holocaust was and I had never really paid attention to it. I really feel bad for Anne and all the other Jews discrimanated during the holocaust and I wish i could have done to help stop it. I am still amazed that a girl of that age could still think that all people had a good heart when she was witnessing what was happening to all other Jews during the holocaust. In the end I am happy that I read the book and it opened up my eyes to realize how lucky I am to live in such a civilized nation. | Name: Cherry K.

When we were first assigned to read this book, I did not know what to expect and I figured we were going to read a boring book. But as we read along, this book became so facinating. I could not imagine how Anne and the other characters managed to survive in the attic for 2 years. For me personally, it would be uncomfortable and just dreadful. However, when everyone's spirits were down, Anne still had so much hope,excitement,imagination, and fun inside of her which is clearly expressed through her diary. Also throughout the book we can see Anne grow and mature into the beautiful, inspiring person she is. Anne has inspired me to always be positive because somewhere in the world there could be someone else in a worse situation. And I am thankful that Anne's diary was saved for us to be able to learn and grow from. | Name: Shair

The first time I ever read the Diary of Anne Frank was when I was in 8th grade. I had to read it for a reading project in Language Arts class, so I chose this book. This book had a lot of genres in it. It had comedy, it was romantic, and quit sad. When I first read the book, I didn't really understand what was going on, but then I realized we were going to read in class. In class, we read a play about the Diary of Anne Frank. I can relate to Anne because she can never sit still and I have the same issue. I always have to be moving or doing something. It was quit sad at the end that Mr. Frank was the only one who survived the Holocaust. He was a very good man. This story tells me that you can have hope even if there is the slightest chance of it. |
