In the 8th grade we have to read the Diary of Anne Frank. This book is a great read for anyone over the age of 11. This book shows how 1 persons good attitude can help brighten or lift spirits for the people around.The book itself is really nice but I would suggest reading the play first as you can see the storyline as the diary itself is a little jumbled up. but the only downside of the books are that they do not have much information about the Holocaust.
Overall the story is very touching and eye opening |

Anne Frank was, of course, an extremely brave girl, who had to go through that terrible time in history (WWII and the Holocaust) just like many other Jews living in Europe. I was amazed at how much she wanted to become a famous writer even though she was living in hiding at the annex, with the fear that the Nazis could find her and the others living in the annex. I don't think I could have lived like that and still have a drop of sanity left in my head. Anne Frank was an inspiring person, and I think everyone should read her story. |

Anne Franks story made me think, even when life gets tough keep your head held high and it will be alright. That's what Anne did, this website in her diary Anne tells us how she thought of going into hiding as a odd vacation in a boarding house and how she didn't think of it as a bad thing. She put up posters in her room to make things nicer, she didn't just start looking at all the terrible things about the situation she was in, she found ways to make the best out of a bad situation. For example Anne wrote in her diary, read, and when she could she had conversations with Peter. And she lives every day to the fullest which was inspirational. I can relate to Anne in the fact that she and I try to make things better in different situations. |

I thought that that the Diary of Anne Frank was very moving. I found that it was incredible that she was able to keep an optimistic attitude about life, even with World War 2 going on. I think Anne keeping a diary, was her way of soothing herself, and calming down her emotions. I thought Anne showed a lot of caring, when she gave homemade gifts to everybody, in the Annex during Hanukkah. |

I would have to be a fool not to be able to appreciate the depth and emotion from which the Diary of Anne Frank was written. The book truly opened my eyes to how it must have been living in hiding like that, always in fear, hoping to survive, and yet...being happy. I think it must have been really hard to be able to keep up your spirits like that even though a lot of hopes are against you and that you might be taken away some day...She was very optimistic in times of trouble, and I applaud you, Anne Frank, for that. To do the things that she did in her position is very difficult. |

The story of Anne Frank was very sad, but it also inspired me because it helped me realize that we should appreciate what we have, not what we don't have. I was also shocked and amazed because I didn't know things could get that bad, and that a thirteen year old could live through that. I think that the story of Anne Frank was very sad, but it also inspired me to appreciate what I have, not think of what I don't have. I was also shocked and amazed by this story because I didn't know things could be as bad as that, and that a 12 year old girl could live through this. I was actually very moved when I read this book. I was surprised at the amount of will power and determination she had. She kept everybody, including herself happy in times of great despair. I was very dazzled by her ability to cope and to bounce back after tough situations. She possessed the quality of resilience. She had a positive attitude towards life and people. She believed that people were good at heart, and should not be judged. Her attitude towards life is something that I strive to achieve. Anne Frank was hero to me, and to others. She was an ordinary girl, with an extraordinary story. This brilliant girl made me realize what a blessed world I live in today, especially in our country. It is indeed an unfortunate ending to this amazing story, but her spirit and her writing will forever remain in our hearts. |

Reading the Diary of Anne Frank was a worth-while experience that everybody should go through. It showed me how fortunate I am. I have unlimited possibilities to live out my life, while she was forced to hide in an attic.
Anne Frank is a role model for all of mankind. She showed courageousness and morality in the concentration camps and will forever be remembered. Anne Frank, thank you for sharing your life story with me, and the rest of the world. |

Reading the play version of Anne Frank's diary and watching the actual play was a worth-while experience that I believe everybody should go through. It was sad, yet it allowed me to see how fortunate I am. Free to live my life anyway I like, with no boundaries to stop my voyage of life. She was trapped like a helpless bird inside its cage, never making friends or flying free.
She showed tremendous bravery, strength and character in the concentration camps. She survived the harsh conditions and climate that the Nazi's forced upon them. She also took care of her sick older sister until she died. But once she lost her sister, she lost hope of surviving the camps and gave into her sickness.
Anne Frank is a role model today and forevermore of strength and morality. Thank you so much for sharing your life story with me, and the rest of mankind. |
