She is the role model all people should aspire and hope to be like. This book is but a second hand knowledge account of her life, and I would like to know her life before the war. To see who inspired her and what her morals and priorities were before the war | Name: kathyy

Response: After reading Diary of Anne Frank, I felt bad for Anne and her family. I think that Anne is a very strong girl and she definitely did a good job living on her own without her parents and later without her sister, Margot. I know that I wouldn't have been able to survive that long without food, water, privacy, and all the other necessities the concentration camps didn't provide. Also, I realized how lucky I was to have a safe place to live and my friends and family to support me. | Name: Janu
December 13, 2010 10:42 PM | Location: Cupertino,California Response: We read the play version of the diary of Anne Frank in class over the past few weeks. I found this book very touching and sad. I found it touching because I felt that it took a lot of courage to live through that time especially being a Jew. I know for sure that I would never have been able to survive for a year in hiding let alone for two. This book is sad because many people die and it shows us the evil side of human nature. However I agree with Anne that everyone is truly a good person at heart. If I could tell Anne something, it would be that her wish has come true. She will never die in spirit as long as people continue to read her wonderful diary around the world. | Name: Jessie
December 13, 2010 10:12 PM | Location: Salem, Oregon Response: I enjoyed reading this book, and I must admit that I love how Anne Frank is so optimistic, brave, and inspiring. I would never be able to survive in hiding for such a long time! I had hoped that she would survive the concentration camps, and stride for her dreams. Sadly, she hadn't. Anne had shown me, that though many can live under miserable conditions, she has the worst. I truly hope that this will never be experienced by any group or race ever again. Thank you, Anne, for inspiring me to feel more benefitted with what I have with me. Thank you, for teaching us about the dreaded Holocaust that Hitler had caused. I hope you live in peace. | Name: jasmine L.

I've learned not to take things for granted. I saw how the simplest joys in life were so easily taken away from her. I've also learned to keep a strong spirit. Anne's optimistic view on life influenced the other people hiding in the secret annex in the toughest times. I hope more teenagers like me will read the Diary of Anne Frank, because it not only educated me about the Holocaust, but other aspects in life as well. | Name: ice cube

Response: I think that Anne Frank has a very educational and very interesting story. Even though her story is just one of the many of the Holocaust, her story is really touching. It really shows that life is short and the moment must be lived in... | Name: Anup Burrito
December 13, 2010 09:50 PM | Location: CA Response: When I read the Diary of Anne Frank, it made me sick to my stomach, but very happy. I felt happy, when I read about Anne. She is so caring and nice. She also is a very strong woman to stay in the concentration camp as long as she did. If i was in that concentration camp, I would just give up. It made me sick to my stomach, the way the nazis terrorized the Jews, and killed many. I feel very bad for Peter, the Van Daans, the Franks, Miep, Dussel, and Mr. Krahler. This book has inspired me to work harder, because I know if Anne has the chances I have today, she would make use of it. Anne is such a strong girl. If only if i was as strong as Anne or even have half the courage she had. | Name: Candyface

December 13, 2010 07:39 PM | Location: California, USA Response: Each story touches a heart of individuals around the world, but none more so than the true tale of Anne Frank.
Reading the diary of Anne Frank reminded me, as a person, to visualize and cherish each of life's moments to the fullest extent, because you don't know when you'll loose that right. As young children we play games that mimic violence with water guns and other instruments, as we grow, some continue, reading the diary has allowed me to look at life in a deeper depth, and truly, has stopped/prevented me from playing those games. Because, not so long ago, those games were occurring in reality. The story of Anne Frank was a touching tale of optimism and bravery. The books and movies depict scenes of horror and turbulence that should have never poisoned the mind of Anne and many of those like her. When I began reading the book, I imagined a happy ending, but as the end came near it was obvious that these people weren't as fortunate. The story touched my heart, as it did for many others. If Anne were still here, she would be very exuberant to see that the war ended and peace was restored for the most part. She would be even more pleased to here that her father, Otto Frank, made it out alive. To the people that haven't read the diary of Anne Frank, it's a must read, and to those who have, let us hope and pray that such an occurrence will not repeated. | Name: Fred
December 13, 2010 07:34 PM | Location: C.A. Response: My class and I just finished reading and watching the movie, Diary of Anne Frank. We also watched a movie about her time in the concentration camps. I found these stories of her life very moving. To survive in a room like the Annex for such a long time without going mad is an incredible feat in my opinion. Also, after seeing her life in Bergen Belsen, I was horrified. She was portrayed in rags, having nothing to eat or drink, and everyone was fighting over resources. I could not believe that anyone could be so cruel to a fellow human being. I am sure she will be remembered along with her Mr. and Mrs. Frank, Margot, Peter, the van Pels, and Mr. Pfeffer as heroes in the Holocaust forever. |
