Having just recently read the Diary of Anne Frank, I can say that it was an easy book to connect to. What I mean by this is, that Anne experienced many of the things I do as well. Although she was going through a horrific experience and I live a pretty comfortable and normal life, I could readily identify similarities. These include, that she fought with her mother over menial things, such as my mother and I do now. Also, I often feel that there is no one in the world that understands me. Being in such an awful situation, Anne quite frequently experienced this feeling as well. She was constantly criticized for things that if the quarters weren't so confined that would normally be easily forgotten. However, she then had no physical human to go and talk to her problems about, only her valued diary. Being an only child I often get this same feeling. |

Reading the Diary of Anne Frank, I thought it was a great perspective of World War II, the Holocaust and the struggles that the families in hiding went through. Anne Frank's record of the war from inside their sacred 'Secret Annex' will live on forever, telling the tale of a young girl forced to grow up and realize that the world was much larger than what revolved around her and her family. Even though these are two completely different times, Anne and I aren't all that different. We both have our eveyday struggles and are branching out to find our own way. This book helped open my eyes to a new and diffrent perspective of many things. |

At first, when our class was assigned this book, I thought it would be boring. After reading the first few entries that Anne wrote, I started to think it wasn't that bad after all. It was interesting reading about a girl our age going through a whole different lifestyle then we are going through now. The class discussions sparked some thoughts and deep thinking after she was in the Annexe, and was writing about how her life changed and her problems. Since it was a diary, it was much, much easier to connect with than a regular book. Her thoughts were shared with mine at times and the feelings she felt were shared also. Our class also learned a lot about the Holocaust that we had no knowledge of at all, and we got to see WWII through the eyes of someone who could tell the story understandingly at our level.
Besides the story of Anne Frank, it encouraged me to be a beter writer. At 13 years old, she could write like a well experienced author. That's what made the diary that much more interesting. Her words could be easily envisioned in the reader's head.
It was a positive experience, in 8th grade, and I hope I get the chance to read it again when I'm older, learning something more out of it then, too. |

I thought that it was easy to connect with Anne and that I shared some of the emmotions that she felt. I thought that it was interesting to hear about the every day events she and the members of the Annex had to encounter. This was because they had to deal with them in many different ways and though I may do the same things it is different becasue of her situation. I also thought that it was interesting to learn about the way that she had to deal with school work and the every day events that I may take for granted. I also really liked learning about what it was like to be a Jewish person in hiding during World War II. I always had a slight understanding about what happened but it was nice to get the story in depth by a person living in that moment. |

While reading The Diary of Anne Frank, I found some interesting points that really lured me into the book. The Holaucost was an event I was really interested in. After reading this I really understood it better; not just what occured, but also how it effected them. I really got into Anne's character; she was a young girl going through adolescence and learning about her adventure and seeing how she matured was amazing. The high emotions were really powerful and really spoke to me. I felt I could relate to Anne with some of the everyday situations we experience. Reading this book really made me realize how fortunate we are and we should be thankful for what we have, because Anne was, even though she was experiencing a hard time in her life. |

I am doing a report on Anne Frank and before this I`ve never heard of her. I think that is very amazing (her life story) because me as a teenager could have never been so strong to the point where I could live without my parents for a while. You would have thought that she would have wanted to commit suicide. She was going through hard times very limited suppy of food I would have starved.
She was a very brillant person to be able to do the things she did.And the fact that she even kept a diary that is perfect. |

When i read Diary of Anne Frank it was so sad. I couldn't imagine going through all the horror she went through. I really am sorry for her, peter, the Van Daans, The Franks, meip, dussel, mr.krahler,
and Margot. She will forever live in Heaven and will never be forgotton. |

Anne's diary inspired me and makes me realize what a blessing it is to have the life that I do. Good for her believeing that there is good in everyone, we all know that can be hard sometimes, but I believe that it is true. If she only she was still here... |

I just recently saw the play and I found it very moving. We had read the play in my class but it was nothing like actually seeing it. We also saw the movie and that was very touching. I can't believe that life was that horrible in a concentration camp. especially with the hair and how it was all cut off just to keep lice from spreading. I can't imagine having to live like a pig in a concentration camp. |

I feel so fortunate after reading the Anne Frank play and watching the movie. Anne was stuck in a room with people that hated her and they were all comparing her to other people. I can't believe that someone would want to kill of millions of people and how they could have watched millions of kids go into the gas chamber. There are some people in the world I do not like but I wouldn't go on a killing spree. |
