Through a partnership with the Washington, DC, public school system, the Museum provides an introduction to Holocaust history to thousands of 10th-grade students every year.
About the Initiative
The DC public school system has established a district-wide Cornerstone Assignment that requires all students in World History II to learn about the Holocaust. To complete the assignment, students receive a guided tour of the Museum with their class during the fall and winter and meet with a Holocaust survivor.
While at the Museum, students also learn about the Bringing the Lessons Home program and are invited to apply to participate that spring.
