Professional Background
Mr. Andrew Kornbluth is a PhD Candidate in History at the University of California at Berkeley (USA). He has been the recipient of fellowships from the Foreign Language and Area Studies Program, the American Council of Learned Societies, and the International Research and Exchanges Board.
In 2009, he published The Man from the Soviet Restaurant: Waiters, Guests, and the Dining Experience in the USSR, Berkeley Program in Soviet and Post-Soviet Studies Working Paper Series, 2009. His language skills include French, German, Russian, Polish, and Serbo-Croatian.
Fellowship Research
For his Takiff Family Foundation Fellowship, Mr. Kornbluth conducted research for his project, “There Are Many Cains among Us”: Judging Wartime Crimes against Jews in Regional Courts of Warsaw and Siedlce in Poland, 1946-1949.”
Mr. Kornbluth was in residence at the Mandel Center from April 1 to November 30, 2013.
