"Post-Holocaust Politics in Arab Lands: The Moroccan Context"

Professional Background

Dr. Boum is currently an assistant professor in the School of Middle Eastern and North African Studies and Religious Studies program at the University of Arizona, Tucson. He received his Ph.D. in Socio-Cultural Anthropology from the University of Arizona, Tucson in 2006.

Dr. Boum is the co-author of the Historical Dictionary of Morocco (2006). He has a forthcoming book Memories of Absence: How Muslims Remember Jews in Morocco. Stanford: Stanford University Press. During his tenure at the USHMM, he conducted research and worked on his new book on the Monarchy, Jews and Post-Holocaust Politics in Morocco.

Dr. Boum has written several articles and essays on Moroccan Jewry, including Moroccan Judaism for Sale: Jewish Culture in the Context of Palestinian-Israeli Conflict.
