30th Anniversary South Florida Dinner

More than 600 guests attended the Museum’s 30th Anniversary South Florida Dinner on January 24th in Boca Raton, raising nearly $1.5 million. The event was led by Honorary Chair and Museum Legacy of Light Guardian Marilyn Wallach. Julie Peyton, national patron and regional ambassador for the Museum, received the Museum’s National Leadership Award in recognition of her indelible mark in educating and building national and global understanding of the atrocities of the Holocaust and other genocides. CNN Senior Legal Analyst Elie Honig moderated a discussion at the dinner entitled Fleeing Atrocities: Witness Perspectives. The panel featured two witnesses of genocide and mass atrocities nearly 80 years apart: Holocaust survivor Louise Lawrence-Israëls and Rohingya genocide in Burma witness Wai Wai Nu, along with Naomi Kikoler, director of the Museum's Simon-Skjodt Center for the Prevention of Genocide.

2022 South Florida Dinner

After more than two years apart, 400 guests attended the 2022 South Florida Dinner, which raised more than $1 million for the Museum’s campaign, Never Again: What You Do Matters. The event featured Honorary Chair Sam Ron telling his story of survival, a pledge to Never Forget led by college students from Hillel of Broward & Palm Beach, the presentation of the Southeast Leadership Award to Craig & Barbara Weiner, and a keynote address by Dr. Michael Berenbaum, the former project director who oversaw the creation of the Museum.
The Museum is deeply appreciative for the efforts of our dinner chairs Sam & Bilha Ron, and our honorees Craig & Barbara Weiner for their dedication and leadership in ensuring the event’s success.
2021 Southeast Virtual Event
Although we were unable to meet in person, supporters like you from across the southeast came together to reaffirm our pledge to the Museum’s critical mission in today’s ever-changing world. The 2021 Southeast Virtual Event raised more than $1.3 million, which helps the Museum meet the rapidly evolving needs and increasing demand to teach the lessons of the Holocaust and confront hate. The event was emceed by actress Daniela Ruah and featured celebrity guests including Jason Alexander, Ray Allen, Jamie Lee Curtis, Morgan Freeman, and others. Holocaust survivors Saul Dreier and Beatrice Muchman shared their powerful stories and Rachel Brown, the co-founder of Over Zero spoke about how history can be a guide to counter contemporary dangerous speech.
The Museum is deeply appreciative for the commitment and dedication of our event chairs who represented six states from across the southeast. Their leadership helped ensure the event’s success.
2020 South Florida Dinner

More than 650 people attended the 2020 South Florida Dinner, which raised more than $1.1 million for the Museum’s campaign, Never Again: What You Do Matters. The event featured a pledge to Never Forget, led by high-schooler Cameron Newman and Holocaust survivor Lily Appelbaum Malnik, and an interview between the Simon Skjodt Center for the Prevention of Genocide’s Director Naomi Kikoler and Elie Wiesel Award winner Maziar Bahari.
The Museum is deeply appreciative for the efforts of our chairs Stephanie and David Newman and our vice chairs Renee and Kenny Blatt. We are grateful for their dedication and leadership and to the entire dinner committee in ensuring the event’s success.
