Danielle and David Snegg’s handwritten letters are full of the romantic hallmarks of new love—lipstick kisses, heart doodles, and pet names. They described how receiving letters from each other would brighten their mood as they struggled to cope with war and worry for Danielle’s parents and brother.
She would later learn she was the sole survivor in her family.
