The Community of Holocaust Education Centers (CHEC) is a dedicated network of local and regional organizations that participates in training at the Museum, learning about new resources and historical content, and engaging in ongoing collaboration with peers advancing Holocaust education across the country.

The Museum leads a Community of Holocaust Education Centers (CHEC) across the country and supports the development and distribution of accurate and relevant resources and training for teachers, schools, and communities. This community advances quality Holocaust education locally by providing:

  • Guidelines, lesson plans, and other classroom activities aligned with state requirements
  • Local Holocaust survivor testimony
  • Projects and resources that connect Holocaust history to local history
  • Public programs and book discussions
  • Holocaust remembrance programs 
  • Teacher professional development support at the state and local level

In 2023, Holocaust centers who are in the national CHEC network will host local professional learning workshops in collaboration with the Museum.
